Hello from Arizona,
There are a couple of things I'd like to say about this new law:
1. There is absolutely no way that this law will withstand the coming sandstorm of judicial challenges.
2. I think that any law which expands law enforcement's ability to detain and question persons is a step in the wrong direction.
Truthfully, there is already an extreme amount of racial profiling and prejudice being shown by law enforcement in Southern Arizona. Sure, I don't have to worry about it since I am as pasty white as they come, but, I wonder if I am overheard speaking Spanish to someone, somewhere, if I am going to be asked for "my papers."
Yes, there is an immigration problem...No, increasing police powers is not an answer I'm comfortable with.

That has nothing to do with the 2nd amend. Please keep THR free of your political views. Yes, I do think that their new CCW law is pretty awesome.
