Hello, Arizona High Roaders

I am starting a new job on Monday (1/20) and will be attending a two week training class in Phoenix starting Feb 4, where I know no one. I don't know what my schedule will be, but if anyone would like to get together that'd be great. Let Me Know.

To keep this firearm related I have an Oregon CHL, but as I understand it AZ doesn't honor it. Also I don't want to have my pistol in my luggage (duffle) as I don't want it to go 'missing'. Will I be able to put a pocket knife in my checked baggage or willit set off bells and whistles?

AZ may not honor Oragon's CHL, but you may open carry.

Welcome to Arizona. Yes Virginia, it's true!! You can open carry here. Just don't go into a bar or anywhere it's posted. I suppose you will want to go and shoot somewhere. I shoot at Mandall Shooting Supplies in Scottsdale. I'm usually there Saturdays between four and closing!! Are you moving here?? You'll love the warm summer days!!! (he he he)

Some friends and I usually try to get out into the desert for some plinking on the weekends I stay here instead of going home. We might be able to put something together.

I am wanting to move to Mesa, Arizona east valley area and looking for employment there if things would just open up a bit. Cold here in the Chicago area. Got this phenomenon called windchill.

I was on an extended visit a couple months ago and loved it. Brought down some homeland security supplies and went shooting at an outdoor range which was a new experience because that does not exist up here. Open carry too!

Hello AZ THR'ers,

I now know more about my upcoming trip to AZ. I will be there 2/4 till 2/14 and then again from 3/2 to 3/14 for job training. I will be staying a the Garden Inn Hilton in Scottsdale and the training will be in Tempe. class will run 8 am to 5:30 pm Mon thru Fri and I will have the weekends free. I won't have much access to wheels as the trainees will be sharing rental cars 4:1.

If anyone would like to get togrther for food, drink or socializing PM me and I'll give you my cell #. It would be great if some of us could get together and with C.R. Sam to hear his "There I was, inverted at 10,000'....." stories!

Also is Shiner Bock available there? I have heard much boasting but never tried it.
