You might consider asking your attorney (if you have one) if that's a sentiment - or a memorialized statement online - that he/she/they may think will make their job easier, or harder, if you have to retain them to defend you in a criminal and/or civil case. Or not.

That's not really accurate.

I've had Street people walk around me to go to the person behind me and put the bum on them.

I need to clarify exactly what I'm going to say before I say it, I'm talking about when I am off the clock. Not acting as an agent of the property owner. Not in any type of uniform.

What I just described is the exact definition of Officer presence. That is low end of the "Force Continum". I exude Resting B***h Face and most people don't even approach me. My mere presence changes their behavior.

When I run into a bum that is dumb enough to approach me the first words out of my mouth are "Sorry bro, can't help you." There is absolutely an understood verbal command in there "Get TF away from me".

At that point I'm also changing my stance and get getting ready to fight and I probably have my hand on my non-lethal Force Multiplier.

I am too old and two crippled to run away or try Physical Force. So if the OC doesn't work I'm going to have to go to Deadly Force.

I dare you to tell me I didn't just go straight up the Force Continuum.

The sworn officer on duty is part of the Civil Authorities and is a Civilian himself/Herself

Reading countless posts on THR about "random unknown people entering unsecured homes".

If you're serious about home defense (not you specifically) shouldn't locking your doors and windows be the first thing you do?

@Night Rider , yes, exactly correct about the whole locked doors and licked windows topic.
I cannot grasp why so many THR folks seem to have lots of folks entering their unsecured homes.
Lock the doors. Lock the windows. Do not answer the door unless entirely prudent to do so.
