Armor/ chest rig setup

I recently found myself looking at body armor set ups for both training and to have incase SHTF.
Im a smaller build guy so fitment maybe problematic and given my location it would be smart to get something in 3+(lots of big bores/hunting rounds)

First place I called recommended the Veritas set up, no side plates with double anti spawl coating & said I could use ducktaped cardboard instead of spending extra on a trauma pad and quoted almost 3 months lead time.

Any opinions or experience on/with companies, style, side plates, trauma pads or general advice before making a purchase would be appreciated.

I went with a slick Blackhawk Low Viz (without Molle or any Swift clips) and a used Mayflower off AR15.com.

One can’t be seen under a jacket, the other is a little more overt and bomb proof.

The same price as what some of these other companies are charging for mediocre grade gear, it’s barely used and there’s no lead time.
