Arsenal SGL21 purchase

I currently own:

1. DTI, M4 type carbine. Pretty basic rifle.

2. A custom built "Frankenrifle". AR middy, DD upper, Mega Machine lower, FN CL barrel, DD battle sights, Bravo Company FA BCG, VLTOR Gunfighter CH, MOE furniture, YHM quad rails, etc. All in all a pretty nice rifle.

3. Waffen Werks AK-74, Plum Bulgarian.

What I did not have was an AK-47 type rifle. Used to have a milled Arsenal SAM7 A1-R. However, those are going for $2000++, IF you can find one.

Like many others, I have been concerned about a future AWB. When I say many others, I mean MANY others. There are hardly any AK type rifles in stock anywhere. Those that are in stock seem to be bringing a huge premium in price. I saw a WASR 10 (in stock) for $750.00, a Bulgarian parts kit rifle for $899.00, etc.

I did find and purchase a NIB Arsenal SGL21 for $939.00. I realize thats a lot of money. At the price everything else is selling for, it seemed fairly reasonable. Also got 2 Bulgarian Circle 10 mags for $62, 10 Tapco mags for $70, and a 75rd. drum (Chinese type) for $80.00. (plus shipping, of course) This will be my present to myself. I have been wanting to purchase for a while, guess it took the threat of not being able to buy, to push me over the edge. Should be able to pick up in about a week or so.

Who cares about the price? You didn't do terrible, and you've got yourself a rifle that will last long after the "I could use that money" feeling. Congrats on the gun, and CONGRATS ON FINDING ONE! My 21 is by far my favorite rifle, period.

I've only seen mine and a couple at gun shows. Never seen one on a rack anywhere in the state.

Actually, as of 12/18/2012, KVAR has the SGL21 in stock (no, as in zero, other models) for $939.00. This is where I bought mine. I purchased the magazines and drum elsewhere.

I have one, nicest AK I have. Things are getting hard to come by, I was lucky and the night the election went south for us I put a S&W optics ready AR and an AMD-65 AK on layaway at buds. Have the S&W and the AK is out for delivery today. Here's a pic of my SLG21 with my Glock I picked up from my ffl the same day.

I also had a Arsenal SAM7-S and their SLR95 and like a dummy sold both of them!! Arsenal makes a SLR101 if you want a milled AK but even those are over 1K and getting hard to find.
