Washington ComPost had a story on recovered guns in the DC/MD area. Pretty extensive but what was not directly addressed is: Bad people, doing bad things, while selling drugs, and doing them with guns they arent supposed to have.

But of course its the guns fault.

Of course, what would anyone expect from the Washington ComPost, a quaint local newspaper (glad to see you called them what they are). PG County and DC are nothing more than garbage dumps run by corrupt individuals and systems and populated by so many worthless people.

What a difference a river and freedom makes. Thank God for Virginia.

I've allways said that "when guns are outlawed only politicians will have guns", after all what is the difference any more between an outlaw and a politician. They are both intent on taking away our freedom.

That way the gun owners and drug dealers are on the same level; therefore they are pushing the message that gun owners are bad people.

9mm Black Talon Luger

Wow! I want one of those... :banghead:

Sounds like some sort of secret model for the Waffen-SS, with gold inlayed eagle claw on the receiver ring and black buffalo horn grips.

I am actually surprised at the attempt by the "journalist" to properly identify the guns confiscated.

Police recover most guns in the daily grind of responding to service calls, including reports of assaults, threats and domestic violence. Homicides draw the headlines but generate only a fraction of the recoveries. Since 2000, D.C. and Prince George’s police have seized about 1,500 guns in homicide investigations.

A surprisingly large number of guns are found by someone who stumbles upon them discarded or abandoned. Over the past 13 years, the two departments have logged about 7,000 found guns.

In one case in January 2010, a property manager called police to an office at 1400 I St. NW. Inside, officers discovered hundreds of badges, handcuffs — and 248 .38-caliber revolvers “left abandoned,” police wrote in their report.

The office had been home to a security firm that abruptly closed.

So.......the majority of guns they "recovered" (more like "confiscated" since you can't recover something that wasn't yours to begin with) weren't used in crimes at all but were just there when they conducted a search.

Prince George's county MD. Pfui.

"www.fbi.gov › Baltimore › Press Releases ›

"Nov 13, 2010 – Prince George's County Executive wife stashed $79,600 under her bra - ... was alleged to have placed $79,600 under her bra, in an attempt to ... The report from Fox news says, the Feds found the money in her underwear."

Edited to change PG to Prince George's. Everybody used to call it PG county, but if you do it now you're a racist. Like they don't have bigger problems.

PG county is a joke. People who live in the metro area know this. Obviously DC's a joke as well. Maryland in general is not a place where you would want to live if you like lower taxes and more freedom. There are parts of Maryland that are beautiful, such as the bay area. But the state is a lost cause and just keeps getting more ridiculous. The differences between Maryland and Virginia are immense.

And despite our very lax gun laws, open carry, shall issue concealed carry, and being awash in guns in Virginia we rarely shoot each other.

True. Several years ago I was looking at some violent crime stats for the nation and noticed that Maryland was either number 2 or number 4 (I don't recall which) in the country for violent crimes. Assuming they were number 4 that means that at that time, their violent crime rate was more than nine times greater than Virginia's.

That's crazy.

Virginia continues to have some rather harsh criminal laws.

Steal $5 from a person and you can end up in felony territory if the CA wants to push it.

About 15 years ago (maybe longer) when an estranged husband shot his wife at a stop light near Arlington Hospital the police remarked to my mother (head nurse in the ER) that the neighbors all came out on their front porches and there was a lot of hardware.

This in a VERY liberal (People's Democratic Republic type) county.

I can't wait to move out of Maryland. I live in PG County~ not sure how abbreviating is supposed to be racist.
