I know Asheville is a blue area in a somewhat red state.

Wondering if they have their own set of city regulations Re: carry? I’ve searched, but haven’t turned up anything.

Will be visiting and would prefer not to run afoul of local law.

Well, I live 20 minutes from Asheville and I've carried there literally hundreds of times. I've never found it any different from the adjacent county I live in, which is essentially look for the "No weapons" signage on entrances and if found, take your business elsewhere.
You can carry in locales that serve alcohol but you cannot partake. You cannot carry into venues with paid entrance (theaters for example) nor can you carry into government buildings, schools and such.

Very boilerplate, no different from anywhere else.

Most deputies and police officers are more than okay with you packing so long as you abide by the rules. When I used to work at Mission hospital, I would often have lengthy conversations with the deputy moonlighting in the ED department and they all seemed to have thr consensus that anyone who takes the time and effort to legally obtain a CCW are among the "good guys" and are absolutely not harassed for it.

Now as for the constituents of Asheville, that's perhaps another story altogether. Asheville is blue, without a doubt and has been referred to as "little Philadelphia" for good reason.

Just returned from two weeks in the Asheville area, had a great time.

I only saw a “no gun” sign in one business, a brewery/restaurant. I don’t drink when I carry, so no biggie.

The only other time I didn’t carry was when we hiked in the DuPont forest, which are state park lands and off limits. Not a problem for me.

Overall, great experience with wonderful waterfall and scenic view hikes in the Federal forests, excellent restaurants, and good shopping for the Mrs. I also spent a few hours in the pinball museum there with my grandson, they call it a museum, but it is a one fee pinball parlor with 70 or so vintage machines. Loved it!

That is a great place. I’ve been there as well and if you are ever in Vegas there is also a “Pinball Museum”. Not a one fee place but all plays are a quarter so still a bargain.
