Last week they did, in Richmond Texas. Must have gotten a few cases in.
Was out last Friday to get some groceries, stopped into my favorite Academy to peruse the (lack of?) ammo and was shocked to see the shelves lined with Monarch Brass and Monarch Steel cased 9mm and lots of Monarch brass .38spl.
The scary part is, when I gestured to the clerk and pointed to the Monarch Brass in 9mm, he in a reflex move with one hand grabbed 5 boxes, before I even specified an amount. I nodded thinking, "Well I just got paid, whats $ 50 for ammo?" (Brass was $10/box, Steel $8/box). I also picked up a box of .38 spl.
Hadn't even made it to the grocery store yet, and here I was buying some ammo ahead of food. How pathetic is that? Eventually I did go food shopping, but ended up buying alot of pasta for the week ahead to stay in budget. I figure you can live forever on that stuff.
But at least I can put in some trigger time on a day off.
