STI Trojan in condition 2 next to pillow, 2 spare mags on night stand with surefire kroma. G30SF on dresser in condition 2. G31 on gun belt at foot of bed in condition 1. 20 feet from bed is a safe filled with all sorts of gunnery. Now all I need is one of those german shepards in condition 0 LOL

Mossberg 835 Ultramag under the bed. 4 rounds of 3' 00 buck in the tube, empty chamber. I unload in the morning and reload at night.
I figure just racking the slide should scare any sane intruder back out the direction they came.

right now its a les baer p2 condition one and a spare mag arms reach of where ever im sleeping, as well as a S&W MP-15 with leupold MK4 CQ/T scope
usally it would be my DPMS AP-4 with TA-11 ACOG and TLR-1 light but thats at a good friends house for things that go bump in the night.

HK USP 40 Fullsized 13rd round mag one in the tube, safety on. Insight Tech weapon light mounted to a surefire rail. Extra mag. Smith CS9 in a bladetech IWB holster and P3AT (both my daily carry's, after getting undressed) next to the HK. A flashlight, cell, keys, pocket change. Mossberg 500 tactical under the bed, and enough toys in the closet to outfit a small army. Doors locked, alarm set, and our chocolate lab at the foot of the bed or stealing my girlfriends side.....
And two ninja cats sneaking around in the dark.

I keep a SA XD40 w/night sites w/full clip and chamber and a maglight on my side of the headboard. the cell phone is in the middle, so either one of us can grab it. The holster mounted to the bed frame's an excellent idea, I think I'm gonna use that. In a corner of the livingroom is a 12ga, full mag., mt chamber. I put masking tape over the muzzle to keep dust out. It's hidden, but easily accessable. There will be a loaded 20ga on my wife's side of the bed by this weekend. Our alarm system consists of an english springer and a pit bull/ lab cross outside and a pair of boston terriers inside. Just about anything will set off the outside alarm, coyotes, coons, wild turkeys, etc. When the inside alarm goes off, we pay attention. The sherrif is 15 mi away and 20-30 min to respond, so we need to take care of ourselves. I've had a couple of thefts over the years (livestock, tools) and my wife found somebody snooping through the garage a couple years ago( he ran out the back door got in his car and was long gone before LE showed up). It doesn't matter where you live.

Usually a 1911 on the nightstand, but it gets moved to a "less accessible" spot during the day if I'm going somewhere the gun cannot (i.e. work).

KIDS GROWN AND GONE.
A Glock 19 full mag of Federal HST and one in the chamber and cocked. All on the nightstand next to the bed. The Glock has tritium sights. Locked up in a safe before I leave.
Also a LED flashlight.
Good idea on the Cell phone. I think that I'll add that.

I've got an FNP-9 in the basement, bullets on the roof. I keep an unopened bunch of kitchen sponges in the nightstand, couple steel wool pads if things really get rough. Oh, and I have a crank flashlight that plays kids songs and a Jitterbug cell phone with a couple buttons missing at arms reach as well.

I'm surprised at the lack of Gun Vaults discussed here. IMO they are well worth the money. I got mine for $90 which is roughly same amount as enough ammo for a good day of shooting.
Granted, I have kids in the house so I'm sensitive to keeping 'em locked up. But Gun Vault's slogan is absolutely correct- "from secure to armed in seconds". I can have the safe unlocked and the gun in my hand in about 1.5 seconds and don't ever have to worry about my four-year-old finding it and causing disaster. I think the trick is using a combo that is easy to punch in under stress. Something that comes naturally to you.
I also keep a Mossberg Pursuader between the bedframe and the box spring hidden behind the 'lovely' bed skirt my wife picked out. Shells are in the Gun Vault behind the CW45.
Just my two cents.

I'm getting a gun vault as soon as the kid is about to start being independently mobile. The 870 should be safe till it gets a little older, then I haven't decided what I'll do with it. They'll have to be pretty determined to press the slide release, rack a round into the chamber and take the safety off--which I can do in a second or two.

I keep a Glock 22 .40 with a crimson trace laser and a tak light on the rail. I have 3 kids in the house from ages 1 to 12 so I HAVE to keep all my firearms in the safe unless its on me or beside me while I sleep and its not in plain view. my bed frame has a little place, a hole if you will, in each corner where the matress isnt square and the frame is so I stuck a nice firm holster in that place so my pistol slides right into it and the sheet covers it up. I can reach it without moving from where I lay. that way it cant be seen so the kids wont go touching if they come into the room while im asleep or an intruder couldnt see to grab if there was such a situation. here is a pic of what I mean. maybe this will help if yu have kids and want to keep a gun by your side while you sleep and keep it safer then just setting it on the nightstand.

Oh i LIKE that idea. Instant blind intruder! Mind if i steal your idea? I've a spare Halogen worklight sitting around not doing anything. Everytime I use it, Hoover dam calls up from 100 miles away and tells me to turn the thing off, I'm blowing out their turbinesLOL I could set it up on the shelf over the bed, splice in a toggle switch and have the switch next to the side of the bed. Probably never need it for bad guys, but it would be good for emergency lighting...

You might want to try turning that on after your eyes have gotten completely accustomed to the dark - after you've been in the dark for a few hours. It will probably end up somewhat blinding you as well. Just set your alarm to wake you up in the middle of the night and try it sometime.

My bedside contains 2 mini mag lights, one with a clear LED bulb and lense and one with a red lense. Either a Beretta 92fs and a spare mag, or a Rock Island 1911 with spare mag. Both are loaded full with one in the chamber. I also keep a machete and loaded 12 gauge. I live alone with few visitors, so I don't really worry about kids finding them.
Oh and a Ka Bar. Did I mention i have a lot of junk in the bedroom? LOL

I'll definately test it out first to make sure it'll work. I'm hoping the shelf is high enough and to the rear of where my head will be. It's tough to describe, but the light will be behind me and up near the ceiling.
The problem will be resisting the urge for a un announced trial run when the girlfriends overLOL

Bedside table has a nice colorful towel protecting the wood. On this towel rests my SA XD45 condition 1 with TLR1 resting next to my Fenix two cell light. I don't remember exactly how bright the Fenix is but as I recall it is over 200 lumens. On the wifes side she has her makarov and telephone. At foot of bed is our four legged alarm that barks us awake when the intrusion alarms get slept through (it happens, believe me).

I keep a 1911 with a tr-1 on it in the bedside table in condition one. A P3-AT with spare mags in an old victorian cashbox on top of the bedside table. And my cell phone plugged in to the charger in front of the cashbox. I also keep my attack beagle concealed underneath the sheets as a last resort.
