Attention Iowans - Anti story / help needed

Hello fellow hawkeye staters

On the front page of the KCCI TV 8 website there is an article about the "Gun Show Loophole" at the Iowa state fairgrounds and Iowa gunshows. This article gives or tries to give creedence to the group Iowans for the Prevention of Gun Violence. If you arent familier with them check out and know they enemy!

There is also an online poll and a sorta discussion thread on the article, lets go rock it and let them know about this. So far this group has pretty well stuck to national topics but we need to not let this happen and the media be their mouthpiece against us as usuall.

66% Yes - do a NICS check
34% No - do not do a NICS check

FWIW doing a NICS check at a gunshow will seem reasonable to most folks. As much as I am against the darn things as long as we've got 'em it seems reasonable to me to do one at a gun show.

I think you guys are gonna lose this one...

What they mean and what they say..

No what they are actually talking bout is private sales. There is no Loophole. Checks are already required if you buy from a dealer at a show or you must have a permit to purchase which in effect says you already passed a check. They are complaining that a check should be done for every single sale - like buying from your neighbor or out of the paper -which is already legal. They are then trying to say this is the gun show loophole. Why don't they require a background check down on the street corner?
