Hi guys!

I havént posted in a while because I was searching for some business ( exporting peruvian handcrafts to France), and I am here again....with a dillema!

I currently have a very nice Baby browning, but I have heard that the beretta in .25 is great.. I have handled it but have not had an opportunity to shoot it...the only problem is that it costs 413.48 USD here in Peru..is the gun worth all that money???

The thruth is that it sounds as a huge price for a .25 acp....a Tomcat is 700.89 USD and a Cheetah is 799.72.......Are berettas too overpriced here or are they really that good??? (I ask because I payed 776.52 for my Glock 25....

Stick with the browning? Does anyone of you own both and can compare?? Thanks so much..after all, 400 bucks IS money.

I bought a Beretta 950 Jetfire recently and shot it for the first time yesterday. So far I have been very impressed with it, it's pretty darn good for a .25 ACP. I have about 150 rounds thur it, and so far no jams. It's also pretty accurate for a mouse gun. Of course its alot cheaper here, I got mine for $150.

They have been dis-continued, so if you're going to get one you should do it soon, they are going to get harder to find...

I have both guns for a looong time. Actually I prefer the Model 21 Berretta as it is DA. The Browning has a shorter barrel and is slightly more ammo sensitive (hollow point feeding) . The Browning is small and the coolest (and most valuable $200-300 in US) Can't you get Spanish Star's or Brazilian made guns cheaper? They are pretty good. What you want to spend your money on is a .22 long rifle pistol. Too bad you can't put your Browning in a box and send it to me Fed Ex and I'll send you a Ruger Mk2 , you'd love it. Or get a Star .22 or an Astra or even an old Berratta Jaguar .22, in Peru, can't you buy a used gun?

Beretta vs. Browning

Hola,

We can buy the Beretta 950 for about $200. + - USD. The Beretta holds more rounds than the Browning, can be carried with one in the chamber(although the manual SAYS NO FOR LEGAL REASONS), and is usually very reliable and easy to load the first round. The Beretta uses a visible hammer rather than a striker like the Browning. I never felt comfortable carrying a Browning baby with a round in the chamber.

Money, like everything else is relative. Depending on how you are going to use the gun. If for defense, forget the .25 altogether and go with the .32 or bigger. Overall, I'd buy the Beretta.

Buena suerta

Hey!

This is a dilemma .. in pure cal terms, keep the Baby .. (I had one once - hate that word ''Once'' :( ) .. wish I still had it cos I reckon they are gettin collectible ... anyways .. 32 has it over 25 anyday IMO. The Brit soldiers in Northern Ireland I believe would when they could ... carry babies because they were so compact ... if not the most easy to shoot.

Now the Jetfire ... well as said by David .. no longer made IIRC .. and gonna get harder to find ... but, that is an awful lotta cash you quote too! Nicer ergonomics, capacity etc ... so quite desirable ... except for the cal ... partly me that - I would not even consider a 25!!

Sorry but .. hard to be real definitive and come down decisively one side of fence .. on balance ... if t'were me .. I keep the Baby. Only my 0.02 tho!!

Keep the Browning! I don't think you'll find enough benefit by trading for or adding on the Beretta...and I really like my Jetfire ;)

Thanks for all the imput...!!!!

I AM ABSOLUTELY keeping the browning, I just wanted to add the Beretta...well, it sounds pretty expensive for a .25.......I will try to get a used one!(Very hard down here, but I shall try!)
