Hello Everyone

I am thinking about buying 2 new .22LR pistols, currently I have a Beretta 84FS in .380ACP, and I was Thinking about buyin a Beretta 87 Target Cheetah in .22LR to be my 84FS mate.

Then I whant either a Ruger Mark III BB 5.5" or a Browning Buckmark "Contour" in 5.5".

I like Ruger´s because they are all steel made, while the Browning "Contour" is made of aluminum aloy, but appearance on the Browning Buckmark is nice´r than tha ruger, the countour of tha barrel is very nice.

So how good is Beretta 87 Target Cheetah 5.9" how reliable it is??
How Good is the Ruger Mark III vs. Broening Buckmark Contour which is more reliable????

if any of you where abot to buy 2 rimfire pistols which 2 pistols of this 3 will you choose?

Thanks in advance and have my best regards

Which feel better in your hand? How convenient do the controls feel?

Can you borrow or rent one of each and shoot them to compare them?

I had done range shooting with the 3 of them, but I just shoot 100 rounds with each, the 3 of them feel good on my hands.

100 rounds is not enough to call it reliable.

just whant to know if anyone had shoot any of this 3 pistols enough to tell me if the Beretta 87 Target is reliable or not, or which pistol is beter if the Ruger Mark III or the Browning Buckmark

Take the Beretta, it has a much better trigger and they are generally much more accurate. I have one of each, and a couple of other .22's, and the 76 is the best shooting of them all. I've had no issues with it in the past 4-5 years I've had it.

If I was buying two of them I'd get the Beretta then the Ruger.

Thankyou Browningguy

So, is the 76 model is the same as the 87?
I was just afraid tha the Beretta 87 Target was picky about ammo, so do they eat any kind of ammo?

Thanks again

Rockstar.esq has a Beretta Target, and he believes it to be the finest .22 handgun available in the world short of an Olympic-style pistol, and maybe even then.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but I do agree that it is a very nice, very accurate .22 pistol. I am unaware of any ammo issues at all with his. My only real problem with that particular gun is it's cost and the fact that I am a huge fan of Ruger MkII's. However, if the cost isn't prohibitive to you, I can't imagine you would be disappointed in the gun. I have probably personally shot 150 or so rounds with his gun (he has shot many hundreds more through it than I have, obviously) and I can't think of a single bad thing to say about it.

Here is what the 87t is good for. It is an accurate blaster that allows you to put round after round in a nice tight package. This is all 50 rnds at 15 yrds offhand.

I looked at a lot of different target guns prior to buying the 87t. Most are not truly set up for red dot sights well and while they have some different ergo's I found the 87t fits my hand well.

Is the 87t a true target gun like the walther's or the 41's? No I have come to recognize that in its "off the shelf" format it lacks the precise trigger of those better guns. I have shot an 87t that Hamilton worked over and yes, it is truly a target quality gun with this modification.

My plan for my 87t is to put another 3 thousand rounds down it and then turn it over to Hamilton for a trigger job. I will have 10,000 rnds down it by then and figure I will have it broken in.

Reliability by the way is absolutely superb.

Thnaks for the advice and charing your experience.

So can I buy the Beretta 87 Target with confidence?

Is it going to eat all wal-mart cheap bulck ammo?

nice pictures of your 87T, and aslo I will go ahead and buy the Ruger Mark III since I have a 10/22 to customize and it will be a mate for the rifle

any other advice?

thanks again

I buy bulk pack Remington and federals and never have a problem. The gun just runs. Normally I will shoot a brick at an outing with no problems. My boss and I both bought 87t's and have them setup pretty much the same. They work great. One day at the range we had 5 of us that had 87t's all shooting side by side. Just random chance but it was impressive to see them all. Every one of them was nice except the one that was worked over by Hamilton. That was just plain impressive.

Tips? Remember it is an aluminum frame and assembly. Don't over torque the screws that hold the weight on. Remember to turn off the red dot sight or your battery will run down. Have a lot of mags, (at least 6) because once you start blasting it is no fun to stop and reload.

Other then that not much I can say. I love mine and shoot it a lot. I am coming up on 10,000 rnds fired out of it and that is when I was going to take it over to Hamilton to work over. I wanted to be sure I had it broke in and made sure I know what I wanted to do with it. I am going to get a trigger job and a set screw on the trigger to adjust over travel. I am also going to have him recrown it.

Thankyou so much Guys, I will go tomorrw to my dealr to order the Beretta 87T.

Thanks again for every thing

I put 800 rnds down mine today. Still very accurate and easy to shoot. Excellent gun and very reliable. Not one single misfire or failure to feed. It even fired off the misfired rounds from my 41.

I think you will be very pleased.
