After searching around a bit, I didn't find a thread on this, but I thought it might be a helpful one. I was thinking this could be a thread to help keep each other and the rest of the community informed about manufacturers and vendors back order status and order fulfillment, due to the current "situation". What do y'all think?
So, if you ordered something from somebody, tell us what it was, what the back order status was at the time you ordered it, whether it has arrived yet or if you're still waiting on it, and if you've received any kind of updated order status since ordering.
What is prompting this is that I ordered a Rock River mid-length upper back on October 24 that I have yet to receive. At the time I was told it would ship in "9-12 weeks" translating to ship date sometime between December 19-January 16. Well, here we are on January 27 and no upper yet. Neither Rock River, nor the vendor have answered phone or e-mail requests for an update. I'm not complaining at all, I know these guys are slammed right now, so that's not the purpose of this thread. So here's the format I'm thinking we could use:
Item Description: Rock River Mid-length Complete Upper, 16" bbl, weaver gas block
Order Date: 10/24/2008
Back order status when ordered: 8-12 weeks
Projected Ship Date: 12/19/2008-1/16/2009
Arrival status: still back ordered as of 1/27/2009
Any updates from the manufacturer/vendor: none
When it arrives I'll update the arrival status in this thread so people can know. Maybe this thread will take off, maybe it'll go over like a lead balloon. We'll see.
