So I thought I would post this simple solution for anyone running a BAD-ASS safety on their AR and had issues like I did with the right lever rubbing or hitting the kuckle of the trigger finger. I would thumb the LEFT lever to fire and use the side of my trigger finger on the RIGHT lever to rotate back to safe. Problem is even the thick short right lever would rub my hand, and the thin levers availabe don't offer much surface to actuate the safety.
Here are the levers used and in their normal position.
So I flipped both right levers 180 degrees. So now I thumb the LEFT lever to fire, and push the RIGHT lever forward with my trigger finger to safe it. If I need to shoot left handed the trigger finger does both the fire and safe selection. This simple mod works best if you have a thick lever on the right, or you could even put a standard length lever on the right for even more leverage. This won't work on the left side unless you wanted to grind off the safety lever stops of the lower receiver.
The top AR is on safe, the bottom is on fire. And the lever is still in the direction of the correct wording.
Here is a view from the rear with the selector in the fire position.
After 100 repetitions it feels pretty natural now. I hope this little free mod helps anyone with a BAD safety get that lever out of the way yet maintain it's usefulness.
