Balance press lever

I put a pool ball on the lever of my RCBS JR3 press. It's heavy enough that the lever won't stay in the up position.So far I just tie it up when not using it.Does any body have any ideas on how to counterbalance the lever?

What about drilling some weight out of the pool ball?

Yup.......Find another ball a bit lighter....Like maybe the original or find an oak ball somewhere like a furnature factory...

You could paint a lighter ball black and find a decal of a figure eight in a white dot, too...

Home Depot sells wooden balls in the curtain rod section and in the fence post section.

Why not tie a bungee cord to the ram linkage down at the bottom (under the bench).
It will pull the ram down when not in use.

Just add some weight to the bottom to counteract it. Time some waits to the bottom and tape them on. May not be aesthetically pleasing but gets the job done

Would tightening the bolts in the linkage joints work?

Might be worth a try. Would be an easy fix if it worked.
