ball m193

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had bought a few K, when it was a lot cheaper,It came in white boxes,marked 20 Butir 5.56 ball m193 Lot 81 MAL 12-82

I pull some bullets and scaled the powder, they weighed 27.1 to 27.2
I reloaded them with 25 grs of that powder,And put a 55gr,hornady psp ,col is 2.225,I'll use them in my 233 bolt gun,i did that before they shot great, pressure was not high, good groups too,
the primmers have the crimps,I use a drill bit and just drill litely the ring just to get a slight bevel.i dont have a problem setting primmers,
Are thses cases just as good as the Lcs they sell?
I cant see buying something i have lots of,thats just as good

I have reloaded them after i shot them in my mini 14,I did how ever use a drill bit to take the crimp out of them, and it makes a nice slight bevel, easy to prime,I have a lot of FC head stamps, some have the crimp and some dont,I just seperated them in cans,Ill get around to prep them later,I have time on my hands,No money but i do have time.

MAL is, I believe, Malaysian military spec M193 55-gr FMJ ammunition.

I've had no problems with reloading MAL brass, but I've never pulled and reloaded original arsenal ammo. Since you downloaded it slightly, it should shoot just fine.

Since you're shooting your pulled and reloaded bullets in a bolt gun, there should be little problem with case neck tension.

But if anyone wants to repeat this with intentions of shooting it from an AR I would urge you to resize the case neck, or remove the decapping pin and lube/resize the cases. Otherwise you may experience bullet set-back and high pressures.

Yes its for my bolt action,I like the powder in these cases,it looks like blc-2 folws nice in my lyman 55,
IM still serching for load that will give me my 1/2 moa,IM close.I;m going to just buy the much heavier bullets, since i have the 1-8 in twist,Most of my reloading books say col for the 40 grn is 2.200,i been noslers reads 2.280 for the btipbt,so i been trying dif.lenghts, any where from,2.225 to 2.280,and the 2.220.I used the stony broke gauge,im still w ay of the lands,so its not touching,But like i said i have time,,im sure i;ll get this to shoot better, maybe its just a 1 in, rifle and it wont get any better,

The Malaysian 5.56x45mm brass from the M193 ammo is great brass and reloads just fine.

The original ammo is great too, if a little on the hot side...

I wish that I had bought a lot more when it was widely available.

i bought 5 ammo cans when it was for sale and cheap.I think i paid 70 bucks for each can, thats 800 plus in each can
yes its a tad hot ,but i use it in the mini 14,And reload it for my bolt gun,
I remove the crimp loads nice too,

M193 is supposed to be hot. :)

As for the FC brass, it's junk in .223. Primer pockets are very loose and will only get worse.
