Google that
(thanks to some other poster somewhere here who put their link up a while back)

great stuff for numbers people
LOTS of loads tested a couple of inches at a time, easy, fast downloads on the data (xls and/or pdf formats)

me, I just never could get over the obviously silly notion that barrel length in handguns matters a LOT
(especially when folks into snubbie magmum diss my wussie "full size" 380acp doncha' know)

anyway... endless fodder there for caliber woobie wars to be had in that database
muzzle velocities only, of course, but depending on your own favorite knockdown power form of religion (mass, momentum, kinetic energy or other more sophisticated fantasy), you can prove whatever it is you are wanting to, if can manipulate a basic spreadsheet

me, I proved mine, of course
but shucks, I always knew I was right all along, anyway ;)

PS
no kidding, those guys put a lot of effort into that thing
and woobie wars aside, it is interesting stuff

Thanks, oldfool. We had planned on doing our next round of testing next month (the Cylinder Gap tests) but we've been caught up short in the ammo shortage. Looks like it'll be this summer before we have all the ammo we want.

What a great resource! I can already tell I'm going to be spending some time on that site.

Shadan7, any chance you guys are planning on testing .22lr?

Lions, that's one of the most common questions/requests we get.

I won't say "no", but I will say that we have other things we're more interested in doing for the next year or two. And since this is all volunteer & out-of-pocket for us, we've elected to concentrate on those other things for now.

However, our protocols are all right there on the site, so if someone else wanted to generate some data which would be comparable to ours, they could. If someone does, documents it, we'd be happy to host the data and give them full credit for the work - or just link to their site, if they wanted to maintain it themselves.

Cheers -

Jim D.
