I know most have seen it but they entire series is on today just in case you haven't.

I've seen it about 10 times but once more can't hurt!

:banghead: I bought the DVD set but have not been able to locate it! Grrrrr:fire:

Maybe I'll relax and watch a DVD of the older series, "COMBAT!" which I have on DVD.
---And did NOT misplace!! ---- :)scrutiny: )

To this day everytime I try to buy the set on eBay I get out bid! Finding it in the stores is usually impossible, guess Amazon might be next. I want the full version without any cuts and all the extras, stories...

If you have HBO theor streaming service is free so why wouldn't you just stream it from the first episode and see the one show where David Schwimmer was actually a good actor?

....We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
......(Shakespeare, Henry V, Act 4, Scene 3 )

Hmm. Just finished watching all ten episodes of "Pacific" on HBO, so now I've gotta watch "BOB." Wife's gonna hate me for not getting my honey-do list done today.

Was a scene, think it was the camp liberation episode, where a soldier draws his 1911 and you can clearly see (I know, I paused it) 3-dot sights. Didn't detract from what was a superbly acted and produced series, I can forgive one minor production glitch.

Old dog - I'm surprised, they seemed to pay some good attention to detail throughout both series.

I've seen Band of Brothers and The Pacific many times, The Pacific is a bit darker but I thought it was done excellently.

IMFDB.org is a good site that basically lists the firearms used in any given movie (for those who haven't used it before).

I didn't see it mentioned above but if you subscribe to Amazon Prime you can stream BOB or The Pacific for free on demand. I revisit each of them frequently. Much to my girl's chagrin

Another good series is Victory at Sea going back to the early 50s using WWII footage. I have the 4 DVD set. Good footage of actual WWII, well narrated and good music score.

Thanks for the heads up on Band of Brothers.

Ron

I have season 3 of Combat. One of these days I'll pick up the others.

i bought the box set as a young junior officer and have watched the full series several times.

I swear it's one of the best lessons in leadership there is.
