Barra 1858 CO2

Anyone care to talk about their experience with one or more?

How close size wise to Remington “1858” BP Revolver?

I don’t have a Barra Remington but I do have the Schofield that they put out. Read a lot of reviews before you buy. I like mine well enough but it seems like a lot of folks wouldn’t unless they are looking for a very authentic functional experience. You load bbs or pellets into “shells” and load those like you would ammo. It’s slow and aggravating but it’s quite the realistic look feel and function. Mine only came with bb shells. Pellet shells are a different design which I have not yet bought. Energy is a bit underwhelming but it’s enough to stick deep into a pine board. Hurts like hell when you hit something hard with a steel bb and it come back and hits you in the belly.

As for size, everything I read on the Schofield said that they tried to be as authentic look and feel and proportionally accurate as possible.

I got a bit excited to try out the 1858 so I looked it up. It seems like they went a totally different direction with it than they did on the Schofield. That’s a shame. As an airgun it likely will be more enjoyable, but as a throwback to a historical piece it’s very disappointing.

For simplicity, this is the item in question.

Got to handle one that was open a Tractor Supply and I do not think it will do for me.

Clunky, feels bulkier in the hand than an 1863 Remington BP revolver (folks call the 1858) yet much lighter.

No idea how it shoots, and not likely to find out.
