My project Winchester 1906 pump action. Old original barrel bulged about 3" from chamber, not suitable for re-lining.
Got me a replacement old used barrel in good enough condition to re-line. Before starting out with the re-lining I tested the fit in my receiver.
New barrel comes up hard about 1/8 turn (NOT torqued or tightened) before extractor / feed ramp being indexes properly.
I measured the threads on the receiver to be 24 Tpi. Is that a reasonable amount to take up with torquing or am I gonna need the services of
real gunsmith?
