My exeperience & observations of BCA barrels indicates your odds are no better than 50/50.... Likely you’ll eventually get one that shoots well enough but it may take 1-2 friggin RMA’s... Why risk it?

At least in 5.56, Nitride barrels are available from Brownells, KAK (Green Mountain blanks) Valu-Line, sales on Ballistic Advantage, Right to Bear all offer better barrels for not much more loot. For chrome-lined DSA are great for the money.

Choices are fewer with x39 but here a handful of KAK barrels. Their 16” Nitride Valu-Line barrel is $110 bucks... The Faxon barrel(s) you mentioned are also GTG.

IME shooting bi-metal bullets, a Nitride or chrome-lined barrel will be more durable than plain phosphate.

I WOULD say I prefer to “cry once,” but I have found I don’t even cry any more when spending more for my barrels. The results are worth the cost for me, and headaches never worth the savings.

I've got a AR Stoner 7.62x39 upper and it's a great shooter with my handloads (.308 dia. 135 FTX and CFE BLK) killed 2 deer with it this season and results were as expected. Shoots 1.5 MOA with either Wolf 125 SP or the Wolf HP.

I've put together a x39 pistol with a 10.5" pistol upper from Hardened Arms and WOW color me impressed. Probably my favorite firearm and shoots small groups with the factory 123 SST ammo.
