I have one of those gunsmithing screwdriver sets that has a bunch of bits that fit into a handle, and the brand is Wheeler Engineering. I was using the next-to-smallest screwdriver bit the other day and the tip snapped off.
I was sitting right in front of my computer at the time, so I Googled Wheeler Engineering, and was linked to Battenfeld Technologies, their parent company. Besides Wheeler, Battenfeld also owns Caldwell, Tipton, and Frankford Arsenal as well as a couple of companies that I am not familiar with.
Anyway I e-mailed them and asked them if I could purchase a replacement #3 screwdriver bit, and if so how would I go about it?
Today a fairly large box - about 8" x 8" by 10" - shows up, and all it contains is a single #3 screwdriver bit. The amazing thing is that my e-mail signature has just my name and city and state - no street address or zip code. But the package was addressed with my full name, street, city and zip, so not only did they just send the replacement bit at no charge, but they had to do a little digging to find the rest of the info!
So remember: Wheeler Engineering, Caldwell, Tipton, Frankford Arsenal, and Battenfeld Technologies - A Class Act!
