Went a little crazy last year, added a new M-1A std. model, Armalite AR-10A4, and a DSA SA-58 to my collection. Now I need to get rid of one, HELP, which do I keep which do I sell off. I already own a Rem. 700-LTR that is a tack driver, so I'm really talking about a battle rifle not a long distance shooter. HELP!!! Thanks!

Short answer: You said battle rifle.

Fal's have been issued worldwide.
M1-A variant have been issued by the US.

Nobody has issued the AR-10. It probably has the most expensive mags, and most people who do get one justify it for its accuracy. Your already claiming those needs are handled by a rem 700..

You already own them. Which one do you like the least?

Take all three of them and two or three cases of ammo out to the boondocks and shoot the heck out of them. The one that you find gets shot the least gets sold.

Battle rifle

The other thing I forgot to add into the equation? reliability? Are there there any plusses or minuses that I should know about? I have'nt really owned any of them long enough to know about long term reliability. Again many thanks.

Every time this comes up, it turns out that the M1A and the FAL are pretty much neck and neck in terms of all the important factors, so it comes down to personal preference.

Can't comment on the AR-10, never shot one.

Go to the range with a case of ammo and shoot one mag at a time from each rifle. The first one that jams loses.

You are the one that owns them. Have you shot them a good bit? The one that fails the most or doesn't feel as good should probably go.

Boston T. Party, in his gun bible, rated the M14 best, followed by the FAL....the AR10 came in dead last for various reliability issues. (note that the Armalight AR10 is not the same beast as the origonal.)
