None of you would ever guess this but... I have a .50 toy cannon on the BBQ island. Shoot marbles with it.

Thanks!
Not something we get to do in the UK...

Truth be told, it's not done here either since open carry is illegal at present. It's kind of a joke, has become a moniker for a fancy sidearm. However, my brother-in-law has a 400 acre ranch near Kenedy, Texas and has periodic BBQs (BBQ in Texas is not just food, it's an event) and I've carried the blackhawk at his place. He's a gun guy, so it wasn't a problem. :D

For a percussion revolver I'd go for this Beaumont-Adams if I could get one ...

But I would have loved to take a Webley revolver in .455 I inherited from a WW2veteran...

For those not familiar with the term "BBQ Gun", it is just a flashy firearm for a guy to show off with basically. If a guy ever gets to visit the Texas Ranger's Museum in Waco, you can see a very nice collection of their BBQ guns. The Rangers have a history of wearing cool hats, boots and firearms. While not exclusive, a whole lot of them seem to be 1911's. The museum is worth spending a few hrs. at, just to experience the history and view the large assortment of fantastic firearms.

Isn't BBQ a TX thing? Someone tell me if other states have that practice.

BTW, years ago I visited the TX Ranger Museum in Waco. I wrote the curator for info on a Henry rifle but never got a response.

This will be mine when I get a gun belt, a brand new Pietta

Haven't run any black powder loads through it (yet), but this would be my choice for attending a Texas BBQ.

Please don't feel left out Squire. I'd never heard of a BBQ gun before this, either.
Of course, I was born north of the Mason-Dixon line. Maybe that explains my ignorance of the reference.

Ummm.....though not as common as they used to be big BBQs are not unheard of in Florida......of course cattle is our biggest agribusiness and always has been despite citrus growers crowing and especially around here (Gainesville/Ocala corridor) horses are so big that "The Horse Whisperer" claimed it was the only area anywhere he had been that tack shops out numbered MacDonalds including Cally fornia and Tehas. Darn that reminds me I got to go give the Colt ( actually former colt) his meds shortly.......

Unfortunately open carry went away in Florida (yes we had it) when the CWL came into effect. I personally complained to Marion Hammer at the time but she felt more people would benefit from the CWL than would suffer from giving up open carry. Maybe she was right, but darn.....
