Been a bit for me to grind out a knife

I'd ground batches then heat treated them to have as inventory to be assembled as necessary. Have gone through all those so did a practice run to see if I could make a consistent grind.

These are coming off the 50 grit belt. Whether or not they get done is another. Was fun getting some shop time on something I used to do. tanto-5820-20220506 - Copy.jpg

Went onto some folder sized blades for a liner type lock:

Looks good. I’m an odd sort in that I like the look of a nice even coarse finish. 60-80 grit then to a scotchbrite belt to smooth out the file like roughness but leave the pattern gets me every time. There is a local maker that did a lot of that sort of thing.
 
Been fun. I'd enjoyed the hands on trades from elementary school wood shop. Making stuff satisfies a deep desire to create something that is purposeful-useful and will outlive me. My take on leaving something useful in my time here for others to enjoy.
