Curious as to your experiences mounting a Weatherby Vanguard .30-06 into Bell&Carlson medalist stock.

Just received mine in the mail, and found that there is a pressure pad in the barrel channel about 1"-2" from the end of the stock. After installing the stock, the barrel is floated everywhere except for the pressure point.

Is the "pressure point" part of the Al bedding block? Does the Vanguard shoot better with the pressure point?

Was hoping to find out as much as possible before removing the pad, as it is much easier to lower the point than to build it back up.

Thanks for your comments.

The pressure point is there by design, to dampen the barrel harmonics. The B&C can do this because the pressure will not vary based upon temp or humidity the way that a wood stock would.

Shoot it - you'll like it.
