I have two older model River Rescue knifes. The old style sheath is designed to attach to a PFD and will not work on a belt. They offer the Tek-Lok as a retrofit, but I find these bulky and don't care for them.

I noticed while perusing their website that they have renamed the knife "River/Dive" and redesigned the sheath. It now accepts a standard belt loop as well as the PFD clip.

I called Benchmade to see about getting one of the new sheaths for my knife. I spoke to Diane at the 800 number. She indicated that the handles had also been slightly redesigned and that my knife wouldn't fit the new sheath. She then offered to refit the knives with the new style handles (stocks, scales?) and upgrade me to the new sheath. No charge!

If you're looking for a knife, look toward Benchmade. They make a fine product (I have about half a dozen) and provide exceptional customer service. We don't often see that anymore.

Would have to agree. Benchmade has treated me very well the past 2 times I have contacted them and did not charge me for small parts I needed.

Benchmade is one of the best knife companies in the business. Their customer service IMHO is what I would consider WORLD CLASS. I have had over 1/2 dozen knives sent to BM at one time or another for "small tunes ups". The knives are sent back in a timely manner and always in better shape then they were sent.

Other companies are starting to get the message that it's no cool to charge a customer 15 bucks for a set of screws.

I will continue to buy from BM. :)
