The benelli M2 fits me like a glove. It's perfect and I like the high rib a lot. It is also glock ugly.

Now the montefeltro silver is rather pretty. How does the montrfeltro compare in terms of fit? Or even the ethos to the m2?

Pretty an't goin to make you a better shot! I have shot thousands of Dove with the M2 & M1 and they run like an AK. Do you want to pose & look good or shoot good? Personally I don't think the M2 is ugly at all.:uhoh: The Montefeltro is also a great gun and will probably fit you fine, I don't think there is a whole lot of differance between the two.

But seriously, I do like pretty things, and all my shotgun shooting is sporting, not hunting, so I might as well look good missing the bird. That said, I went to gander after church Sunday and low and behold they had a complete line of benelli's. As configured from the factory, neither the montefeltro nor the ethos had enough drop in the heel, or the comb was too high or whatever. I couldn't get my head down far enough, Though the ethos felt a lot better in the grip area. Stupid ugly m2 still fit like a dream grumble grumble......

I have both and with the right shim's seem to fit me about the same. I generally prefer the M2, however. The Monte is a 20 GA that I bought for my son to use when he gets old enough. It's the model that comes with the additional youth stock.

If I wanted a pretty shotgun I'd get the nicest O/U or SxS that I could afford. To me semi autos and pump actions are more hunting and/or self defense type shotguns and I don't see a need for them to be pretty. But it's your money, not mine. I'm a Benelli fan myself.

onecounce: because I don't have 15K in the bank earmarked for a work of art

Kansas: I'd prefer an O/u, but when I shoot my cheapo O/U and my 1100, the auto is just so much more pleasant to shoot.

Oneounceload, that gun is beautiful, what is it? I just saw the Citori 625 grade VI on Browning's website last evening. These guns just look so good... Do they really shoot better, I mean thousands of dollars better, than the entry level guns?

As you go up in grade, you get nicer wood and engraving. The mechanicals are the same.
