Pump.
Re the Express hangups.....
First, these seem to happen most with shotguns that belong to folks that do not read the owner's manual and follow the instructions therein. Doing so eliminates many glitches.
Second, some 870s have rougher chambers than of yore. A polish job with 4/0 steel wool takes 5 minutes at minimal cost.
Third, pilot error rears its ugly head. Pumps work best when worked emphatically. Rack it like you mean it.
And running 1K shells through any 870 gets things smoother.
10K smoother yet.
When I get any one 870 to 50K, I'll let you know how slick feels.
