Just asking around before I contact benelli on this.
The shotgun is a 12ga. 30" Benelli supernova.
It's only use has been as a trap shooting gun, so it has been cleaned polished and lubed regularly.
In other words it's been babied.

Just today when pulling it out of the sleeve I see the stock starting to bulge out and separate right next to the comfort stock "chevrons" and the cheek rest.

Is this normal? Is it to be expected? And anyone else seen this? The this pic shows it best.

Possible too much good care?

Maybe 'Polished & Lubed' soaked under the stock parts and swelled the rubber under it?

Or it got super hot in a car in the sun or something?

Just speculating?
Neither should harm it.

I'd sure contact Benelli about it though.

not quite that much polishing or lubing... and it has been in a car but not under pressure and not baking.. as you also pointed out it should not affect it.

Sorry I don't have any info for you, as I don't own one. But just some observations....that cheek piece looks like its not part of the molding for the stock...is it replaceable maybe?...could it just have work loose from recoil?. Look around see if there is any way to tighten it up. It doesn't look like a problem that a judicious application of epoxy couldn't handle

Also I have knowledge of at least two other benelli pumps which (one super nova, one nova) had there stocks break. One had to go back to the factory, the other was forced to replace the whole gun being cheaper than the repair. Now my knowledge is limited to the only two guys I know that bought one, so I'm not saying that this will be your experience. Really your probably going to have to call Benelli.
