First post on the forum, but from what I hear you guys (and gals) are extremely helpful. Big Beretta fan (have a 12g whitewing, wife has A303).Thinking about puchasing a used 390 for turkey and ducks...what's your opinion? What are used one's worth? (Hard to judge on the auction sites, prices are ll over the place)

Likes/dislikes?
Known problems?
How do they handle foul weather?
What should I watch out for in a used one?
Did the 12g only come in 28 and 30 barrels?
Does anyone make camo replacement stocks?

Thanks in advance.

The 390 was the first semi shotgun I owned.

Definitely like the soft shooting compared to pumps and singles,
not sure of foul weather, but I put about 900 rounds without ANY cleaning and it fired every time. I did have to bump the charging handle forward a few times to chamber,
Mine came with a 24 in barrel and I took 2 years of ribbing from my trap team before getting a 30" barrel.

Overall, I really like it.

My clay busting shotgun is a 390 with many thousands of rounds thru it. It had ONE hiccup when it failed to feed the second round after a thorough teardown cleaning. I never figured out why and it has functioned flawlessly since.

Have had several, still have one - very dependable with all loads...very simple to clean...have not seen a 26" 12 but you could check w/ Cole's...have never really subjected them to foul weather, so can't report on that.

I highly recommend the 390. I have put many thousands of rounds through one of the ones I have. The other is my backup gun, and I've put only about 2,000 rounds through it. Very good guns. In fact, I wouldn't trade mine for comparable 391's....... or for any other autoloader that I know of. And I own several other brands of autoloaders too, so I have something to compare them to.

The 390 is a GREAT GUN! I have 3 right now. Each has it's specific place.

For an average gun to hunt with, I would not pay more than $500. Walmart (yes I hate them too) did have a great deal on NEW 390's in the recent past that they sold for about $500 (which was a deal!) They were black synthetic and although the finish was not typical of Beretta, they are just as dependable.
