Please help me with a fair valuation for a complete set of Duck's Unlimited Sponsor's Shotguns in 12, 20, 28, and 410 ga.

Searching the internet, I find that there are individual ads and sales, many misrepresenting the same firearms as EELL series or not accurately describing the shotguns. The asking prices and values I find from various sources are all over the place (from $675 to over $3000 for individual shotguns); none suggest the value of a complete matched set.

These were produced by Beretta in 1988, 1989, 1990, and 1991 in Italy. They appear to be identical to Silver Pigeon III and are marked Mod 687DU. All have premium figured wood. They are highly engraved and signed by MAASS. Gold triggers, but no gold inlay on any of the engraving. Each comes in a presentation hard case with extra choke tubes and tube wrench, original paperwork and certificates of authenticity. In addition to the manufacturer's serial number, each has a DU serial number designating the year of manufacture, the matching number of the set of shotguns, and the gage:

DU88 06xx 20 - 20 ga, 3" mag, 26" barrel
DU89 06xx 28 - 28 ga, 2 3/4", 26" barrel
DU90 06xx 410 - 410 ga, 3" mag, 26" barrel
DU91 06xx 12 - 12 ga, 3" mag, 28 in barrel

All have been properly stored and maintained since I purchased them. The 12 ga and 20 ga are used, as new. The 410 ga and 28 ga are unfired.

Descriptions of these shotguns, values and asking prices are all over the place. I don't think most sellers actually know what they have. Here are my set of 4 matching Beretta 687DU Silver Pigeon III shotguns:

I am not looking to sell these, but I do need a fair estimate of their probable current value. Thanks for any knowledgable input.

If I had them for sale in my shop, I would price the 12 and 20 between $1600-1800 each. The .410 and 28 around $2300. In my experience, being a DU gun actually decreases the value vs a standard model. I don't think being a matching set really has any bearing on the value in that situation, since it would be a one in a million buyer willing to buy four DU O/U Berettas.

Thank you.

That information reinforces my intention to use and enjoy these like any other nice firearm. There real value will be that they will eventually be passed down, in excellent condition, to my kids, who I hope will also take good care of them and do the same.

good for you, if used and taken care of you can not loose. and your children can use them and give them to your grandchildren, saying these were grandads guns. eastbank.
