I wanted to get an opinion on which would be the better choice. My dealer has them both for around $320. I'm looking mainly at lifespan and reliability.
Thanks in advance!

Well, unfortunately, I haven't seen any shoot to destruction tests on either of these guns (I have both). They pretty much run head to head as far as reliability goes. The Beretta is, of course, smaller and more concealable. This may adversely affect the lifespan of the gun......to the point where it might be a few hundred, maybe a thousand rounds less than the Sigma, which is a full, service-sized gun. Compact guns tend to handle the forces of recoil a bit less well. However, I would expect that each of these guns would last many tens of thousands of round before it would need significant repair, service, or replacement.

If I were to only get one, I'd probably go for the Beretta. Mine is very accurate. And not at all unpleasant to shoot.

Eek! Do we get a third choice? At least give us the $350 Stoeger Cougar option.

I have a Sigma 9mm as a cheaper piece to shoot since my Glock 22 in 40 is getting expensive.

The sigma isn't bad at all except the trigger pull is LOONNNGGG and a Heavy. After a 250 rds sesssion, my finger was sore as hell and loosing some circulation since I was trying hard to squeeze off nice shots to see how it stacked up. It's not bad at all except the trigger. If they had a different trigger in there, it would be a hell of a bargin piece.

I am a super huge Beretta fanatic - I have five 92 variants. But the 9000 really sucks, IMHO.. And the Sigma sucks too. I'd pick neither, personally...
