Congrats. Post a pic or two when you have time.
I don't own a Beretta 92/96 either, but all guns have limitations and they all require regular maintenance. Everybody needs to determine if those limitations and requirements will affect them. As Shipwreck alluded to earlier, most owners may never put enough rounds through their Beretta's to even break the locking block with no maintenance. In addition, with proper spring and locking block replacement mentioned by Shipwreck and other posters the Beretta 9X series of pistols will probably last 10's of thousands of rounds. The above issues can be avoided by simple maintenance.
- Replace your guide rod spring every 3000-5000 rounds, or replace it if it is shorter than your guide rod.
- Keep the pistol lubed, it requires oil on the locking block and slide rails. The oil needs to be there, but does not have to drip off the pistol.
To *hopefully* avoid problems, I would go with the Beretta. The Taurus 92 has a much better reputation for reliability than their other offerings, but in the end, they do go back to the factory more often than the Beretta.
Say there, if the Beretta 92fs is your daily carry
(presumably CCW, at least sometimes)
then how do you carry it? Shoulder holster,
small of back, high on the hip - what???
