Thats kind of what I figured. My buddy kept pushing me toward the Stoeger M3000 but I chose the Beretta because I heard the inertia guns wont cycle light target loads and when I had the issue with the Beretta I was a bit shocked.

There is a difference between light target loads, like 7/8 or 1 oz that run 1250fps and the low recoil trainer rounds that are running ~980fps

Yep, too slow for a semi whether gas or inertia. I run a 3/4oz reload in 12 but it is also going 1275fps and it is SOFT and works both Beretta gas guns of mine, one of which is the 3.5" Xplor Unico.

As a rule an A300 will cycle lighter loads than a M3000.

It’s fairly common for the Beretta to be tight out of the box. I have 3 of them. I was a bit worried the first time I went out and I got a stovepipe every few shells using light loads. After I started researching I found they recommend breaking them in with > 1oz loads. I figured this out the hard way with my first one but learned a lot. Make sure your your bolt carrier is cleaned and well lubber. The first 200 shells should be > 1oz or 1oz higher velocity shells. Then do another detailed cleaning and lubrication of the bolt carrier. After that you’ll more than likely not have an issue going forward. They actually get better and more reliable over time. I can easily go 4 rounds of sporting clays (400 shells) shooting light target rounds without a single malfunction. I’ve pheasant hunted in subzero snow and suck hunted in the rain and it’s been a great reliable shotgun.

Thanks! It ran the higher velocity federals without an issue. I have a couple boxes of pheasant loads I was going to break it in with but with stuff being scarce I figured eat up the cheap stuff first.

Kill any geese with beretta yet? I personally know what abuse I've put my shotguns through and can't bring myself to take an autoloader to the blind. I got a buddy that shoots a yildiz, and to be honest, it goes bang, and when he dropped it in the stanky pond muck, we had her going in minutes.
Actually, I would take a Vinci though, honestly. Can't afford one though

Always allow enough room in your bag for the bare minimum cleaning supplies. Nothing like watching ducks bomb your decoys and you can't do anything about it

Not yet. Work and family got in the way and seasons over. We mainly hunt fields because I cannot swim so wont go near water, so no water/muck to deal with. I'll break it in rabbit hunting this weekend and then maybe turkey and for sure dove season in September.

IMO, there is nothing like decoying ducks in a field, especially flooded corn, and geese in water. I personally would hunt fields more if I had more access to better fields. But, when you decide to hunt water, which you will eventually , there is no swimming in waders

If you're shooting those 1080 Herter's they will not cycle that slow a load. I shoot a 3/4oz reload in my shotguns, but running 1275fps, and it works even my two Beretta A400 gas guns.
