I recently purchased my first Beretta a 85bb. I didn't research how much the magazines cost nor availability. So I am finding they are sold out everywhere and folks are asking up to 100 bucks on ebay. Is this normal or just a product of 2020? Only have one mag so I definitely need at least 3 more. Will any other pistol mag fit the 85bb?

I bought a Model 85 a few years ago and got some spare magazines from Beretta. Cost were $40-$45 as I remember. Not cheap but not $100.

I'm guessing e-bay is taking advantage of the current panic buying spree.

Companies like Mec Gar may make a compatible magazine but I'm sure they are just as hard to find these days.

Does the 84 mag fit the 85? Bob's Gun Parts has 84 mags for $35. Numrich Gun Parts also has a half dozen different sourced 84 mags for $20-something to $40-something (and IN STOCK!!) and one 85BB mag for $42 (also in stock).

PS - it's normal on ebay for sellers to screw the buyer. I ended up buying a hammer spring for my VZ-70 for $30 from an ebay seller because I couldn't find it anywhere else. Numrich's list price for the same part is $3.75. But of course, has been out of stock for at least six months.

The Model 84 is a double stack magazine gun, the Model 85 is a single stack magazine gun. Magazines are not interchamgable.

Ah ... correcto ... took a closer look at the 85BB mag on Numrich and it's definitely single-stack. Sorry, OP. But ... it is in stock at $41.75 for the blued factory mag.

Thank you, Yes that is it. I am pretty sure I checked the Beretta site and it showed sold out.

They're claiming it's in stock now--and the price isn't bad. Hopefully they're telling the truth!

I looked at Beretta's store on Wednesday when you started the thread and they were marked as "Out of Stock" or something similar.

So, you were not imagining things.

They are listed as "In Stock" now. I hope you get a couple.

I have 3 magazines on the way and a set of wood grips. Searched the internet for a promo code and got 20% off of everything.
Once again thank you for the help gentlemen. I would not have went back and checked those sites again anytime soon for availability. it's a strange feeling only having one magazine for a pistol.
