Fella's;

When the Neos first hit the market, I heard a fair amount of negative feedback. Now that it's been out a while, what's the situation?

The initial concerns seemed to center around lack of accuracy and jamming. Can't remember if it was feeding problems or extraction though, sorry.

In any case, I still like the looks of the thing, and a friend asked me for information. Since I'm short on info, I thought I'd put the question out here.

Mine's been very reliable since day one, actually my wife has pretty much claimed it :).

IMHO only real weakness is trigger is not so great out of the box, but its not hard to improve it: http://pho3nixserver.no-ip.org/u22/u22main.html

CDNN has "bulk pak" Neos mags for $9.99 each. My wife really likes having 100 rounds of ammo preloaded into mags when we get to the range

I bought the bottom feeder...4.5" basic model. First time at the range I had plenty of failures to eject and some failures to fire (ammo, not the Neos). But, after several hundred rounds of standard 22s and mini mags, I've had it to the range a few more times for another 1000 rounds without a hiccup. The few failures to fire have been the ammo.

Pretty inexpensive little plinker and lots of fun.

slide/barrel as you can cut yourself.

FWIW

My Neos is a fairly early one and it's been great with the exception that the ejection port looks sandblasted.I guess that's what they all do.Mine loves Remington's golden bullets in the bulk pack.
