Just saw an old Beretta O/U on the used rack for $500.

It's a BL2 or BL25 or something... Can't remember.

Can anyone give a rough timeline of Beretta's O/U models? How old is this thing?

Are there some time frames and/or models to avoid, or has Beretta always made a good shotgun?

Proportions are very much like current models. 12 Gauge 2 3/4" chamber, fixed chokes, hard buttplate, all suggest it was made a while back.

AB - found this reply on google from another forum - can't vouch for its accuracy though - but is probably close:

Model BL 1/BL 2 Over/under

Model BL1:New In Box$416,Excellent$328,Good$228
Model BL2(single selective trigger):NIB$504,Ex$406,Gd$281
hope this helped

Thanks.

BL2 it must be, then.

$281 for a field-worthy Beretta O/U sounds a tad low these days. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
