Anyone else having issues with the Wolff TCU? Wilson just informed me that they stopped using them due to uneven surfaces. The one I just installed works ok and might be more durable then stock but it just barely resets the trigger..

By TCU I'm guessing the Wolff trigger return spring unit. I have one in my 92 FS and have had no problems with it functioning as advertised.

Hummm... Mine works as well but it just barely resets the trigger and it's the standard spring..Did you polish yours or just drop it in? Did it get better with use? I bought mine from Wilson and below is they're reply..

Thanks!

"This is common with these trigger conversion units. The only way to alleviate this is to work in the spring really well, and to keep the spring lubricated at all times. The rod that the spring rides on is not altogether very smooth and needs to be worked in for best operation. We stopped using these conversion units in our custom shop due to the issues were seeing, like the weak reset. We still sell them because a lot of people like them. They are made by Wolff. If the spring does not free up with in the first few weeks of use, it may be defective"

I've seen several videos of the installation of the Wolff unit and every one of the say to polish the sides of the ring that trigger pin goes thru. That part is coated with Robar's NP3 process why in the world would one want to remove a super slick non stick coating is beyond me. If the part was causing problems in the pistols the Border Patrol (I think that was the agency that want this part) you'd have heard about it by now. I purchased mine directly from Wolff and had it installed when I had an action job done.

Well..I will just keep blasting away then and hope for the best..That's kinda unfair because it does work and has never failed at the range so maybe it will become more "positive" as time goes on.. I love the idea that it's more durable and I have no doubt thats true so I will keep it in for now..

I also upgraded to the flat wire spring and steel guide rod with a blue recoil bushing from Wilson and that has really made the gun a pleasure to shoot..Really..Bill Wilson loves the design of the 92 and I for one am excited because that means lots of Wilson Combat parts are coming down the pipe..Sweet!
