I've been looking to buy a semi-auto .22 rimfire and am considering a Bergara BXR. For those who are familiar with these rifles, I have a question or two. Bergara built the BXR to be "compatible" with the famous Ruger 10/22. The magazines are really just 10/22 clones. If I buy one it is because I've been convinced that the barrels are more accurate than your typical 10/22. Seems like the out of the box trigger is crisper than 10/22. They offer the BXR with a steel or a carbon fiber barrel. The carbon fiber version only weighs 4.75 lbs; the steel about 6 lbs. I do like the composite stock. If I buy one I'll also suppress it. The 16.5" barrel seems to cry for a silencer amnd I've been heading in that direction for a spell. So, guys, help me out here. Are Bergara barrels and triggers better than the Ruger 10/22?? BTW, I had a 10/22 and would rather try something different and hopefully better, but the 10/22 is hard to beat for reliability and a really good price.
