Does anyone have any experience with this gun? I saw one while browsing through a Rock Island Auctions catalog and it just... caught the eye. Apparently they're about 2-3k in decent condition and fire a cartridge nearly identical to 9mm largo.

I think this might be the first "collecting" bug I've caught, all the rest of my gun hankerin's are for very practical firearms.

I have no experience with them though I've handled a couple.

Important piece of pistol history.

Neat guns, but I consider them a collectors' item, not a using gun, even though I have fired mine just to see how it worked. (Very well, and quite accurate, but I probably won't fire one again; just too valuable.)

They have a bit of a nasty kick due to the poorly designed grip, a characteristic they share with the Mauser broomhandle of the same era. The Danes later put on a better shaped wood grip.

Yes, the 9mm Bergman-Bayard is the same as the 9mm Largo; the Spanish liked the cartridge but preferred a locally made gun.
