In a brief moment of weakness I purchased another 270 Win. Short Mag. rifle, 24" barrel.
With a new rifle, one naturally begins to contemplate new load possibilities.
I like Sierra 130 gr. but what else? I think 140 Accubonds are good, and have a box of 145 ELD-X to try.
Anyway feel free to give input on best all around 277 bullets or even powder combinations as well!

I like putting together distance loads, so I start with stuff like ablrs, bergers, btips, as soon as I know the twist will stabilize them. I've got my own interest in the .270wsm and would eventually plan on trying some Barnes as well if I can push em fast, accurately. My fall back is always a flatbase of good construction, but the long for caliber pills always get their chance.

The 270 WSM in our family belongs to one of my sons. He is a hunter, and like most young people is too busy with life to spend hours testing every bullet/powder combo. He has loaded Hornady 140 Interlocks and 150 Partitions. The best powder in the few he tested was Magpro. 1" 5 shot groups at 100 at about 3050 fps. with the partitions.

I think that is exceptional accuracy from a Partition. He did kill a nice bull elk at 275 yds. with that combination.
