p.s. how in god's name did you get that nice wilson for $1,400?!
right place, right time, cash in hand. don't think that the dealer knew what he really had.
it also appeared to be an un-fired safe queen too :)

hey, that's an awsome looking longslide, quack! reminds me of the one in the first terminator movie. almost looks as nice as my EMP40!
Thanks!
I have an EMP too ;)

I like a spare of my main "go-to" handgun. Looking at the list in the original post, that seems to mean P220.

Learn what makes a 1911 good (or bad), and how to evaluate your potential purchase. Then go shopping for a used one in that price range.

You'll get a heck of a lot more pistol that way. Especially in today's gun market.

Used Baer, easy. Then a Dan Wesson Valor. I'd also consider Fusion too. Then I'd look at an STI and the TRP.

You can get a very slightly used Les Baer 1911 for that if you shop around.

What he said. If you have a price point of $1400, you can either buy a new Springer/Kimber/etc, or a used Baer.

To my way of thinking, a lot like saying that you can buy a new Malibu, or a four year old Lexus. The difference being that the used Baer probably has less than 1000 rounds through it, and the Lexus has 60k miles on it...and may or may not have had the oil changed or the maintenence done.

Not that I have anything against Springfields or Kimbers, having owned three of the former and eight of the latter.

You look like your heading down the same path I did.
I have a sig P-220 and a Kimber Pro Raptor as well.
Next you need to add a Kimber Warrior, I love mine! Full size, night sights, accessory rail and very accurate good shooting pistol.
