On another site there was a NIB Weaver 36X Target Scope for $385 shipped. They usually sell for some over $400. I almost bought it because that scope comes highly recommended among long distance shooters. But, I dilly-dallied too long and someone else jumped on it. When you see target pics along with the gun that shot the group (Cooper) it's always with a Weaver 36X scope. These are highly coveted scopes and well worth the money. SWFA has them on occasion and the prices are good. Saw a used one for $320 recently. Let us know what you buy.
Sniper66, you're still in luck -- even better luck. :) Until Midnight tonight you can get the T-36 with a Sunshade for just under $300 delivered. As you no doubt know, that's a great deal, super rare to see it that low.

You can also get the excellent (discontinued) Grand Slam 4-16x44 for a bargain right now too.

Honestly, I'd just as soon have a 3-9X40 Burris FF-II priced at $200 as anything else priced $400 or less. I don't see anything significantly better until you get over $500. And that includes the $300-$400 Leupolds.

I very much like the Fullfield II but I do see noticeably better through the $300-$400 Leupold’s.

I also had a 2-7x35 Fullfield II on a Marlin 336 for several years and it didn’t seem inferior in any way to the 3-9x40 that was on my 30-06.

Thanx for the replies everyone. Some really good options given.

I really like this one but gonna check out the Diamondback Tactical, SWFA and Athlon scopes too.

Be carful about the lower end Vortex stuff. I had a diamondback and the optics were kind of terrible, even at the price point.

Depending on how much recoil you are planning on, one of these might work. Decent glass, mil-dot reticle, 30mm tube, on sale for $299.99. Only drawback is short eye relief. Works great on my Stag Model 6.

Decided to go with the this one. Vortex Viper 6.5-20X44. Always wanted a Viper and couldn't pass on the price with no tax and free shipping. Every other website I checked was selling them for $400+. Looked through one at Cabelas and was very happy with it. Did notice the shorter eye relief though. Should be in in a few days

I currently have that scope on my 527 Varmint. To my eye it's a nice scope, pleasant to the eye to sight through, and a good value at the price you paid. It was my first side-focus scope and I've found that I'm a fan of the side focus vs. A/O, would be happy if all of my scopes were side focus.

Another Viper 6.5-20x44 on a varmint rig. Bought the fine cross hair dot when they were closing them out. Very nice for the sale price.
