Whats your beat auto folder?

Whats your best budget auto folder? Not everyone can afforder a gerber 06

Post your blade your warrenty yiur stability of blade?

Another vote for Boker if you want to keep it in the $50 range or so.

Buck is making some now (be sure to get real ones) around $100 also. Lifetime warranty there which is hard to beat.

I just have a regular FAST 06; I met a vet who had the auto, got to try it, but I can't justify the difference in price.

On the cheap end, the Ganso autos are shockingly good.

In the middle are the Kershaw Launch line.

From there I'd say Randall King, Paragon, Protech, Microtech ...

Best auto folder? I'd submit a Microtech model I have, a Lightfoot LCC D/A model. It's a seriously strong knife, heavy blade, good steel, and it's double action. You can open it manually, or release the blade automatically with a hidden trigger. Unless you know the knife, you will not find the release, yet it is easy to open with it.

Titanium colored aluminum bolsters, carbon fiber scales, good looking knife, too. And it has Microtech's lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, no longer made. They can be found, but the price has risen as it's now a collectable.

I'll buy custom knives for $500+, but I don't think I'd ever spend $175 on a Gerber of any kind.

Piranha is a good budget auto manufacturer. Microtech is really the only credible game in town for OTF autos, although some other companies offer one or two of decent quality, like Benchmade. Benchmade side-opening autos are popular and of good quality. Protech's are also good.
