the best spray I ever had was from my own carbonated water. Just put about 3 cups of sugar into a 2 liter bottle full of water with about 1 tsp of yeast. Put it in a warm dark place for about 3 days and blow it up.
Take a gallon paint can with just a touch of paint, fill it with water and hammer that lid down tight. Shake well, place lid side down, hit at 100 yards with 7mag or similar and like Sutherland's Oddball character in Kelly's Heroes, "Paint pretty pictures" as you watch the can go about 100 feet in the air..........
Some of our Irish friends will tell of "Irish purgatory," that being a great pit into which all the alcohol one has spilt, wasted, or abandoned is placed. And, it's straight to Perdition if you drown.
So, I've never found a beer I'd care to use for a target lest we both wind up in that Pit.
(And, beyond the being witty, I try to follow the adage of never mixing shooting and drink--even in appearance.)
Store brand soda, particularly the highly colored varieties is readily available at reasonable cost. (Just remember to leave the range cleaner than when you arrived.)
If one must waste beer, it should be beer not fit for drinking, I'm looking at anything "ice" or natty...not natty light tho, its good when I'm thirsty for something resembling sharp cheddar.
The card board in a Natty thirty pack is all white and makes a good target with a 3/4" piece of electrical tape for a aim point. Shave cream from the dollar store is fun to blast.Save the beer for it's intended use!!!

Even cheap beer is too expensive (and useful) to waste as a target IMO. Empty cans full of water and food coloring hit with a varmint bullet are plenty of fun for me, or as someone else mentioned, chain-store-branded sodas are cheaper and carbonated.
