Best budget range finder

I'm looking to buy a range finder. I don't know what different features make one better than another. What features are good to have and which ones aren't necessary? Most of my shooting will be within 250 yards but eventually I want to be efficient out to about 600 yds. I don't have a specific budget but I don't want to spend more that I have to. Doesn't have to be too fancy. Thanks!
