What;s your favorite .22 plinking ammo? I've had good luck with Winchester Wildcat so far, but it seems to leave a lot of powder residue behind. Remington's cheap stuff (I forget the name) was terrible, lots of misfires. What do you guys like?

i dont know what cci stingers cost by you guys but they are a premium by me. i have had great luck with federal bulk packs. also dyna point bulk packs by winchester. they may be my overall fav but are hard to come by in these parts sometimes. remington bulk are okay, but i find them dirty and have more problems with ftf and fte. blazers arent bad if you want to shoot lead. i dont like thunderbolts at all. wildcats are good i agree. and so are peters bulk packs if they stock them by you.

Well I could tell you I am rich but, maybe I should just say I meant CCI Blazers.

I've got a Ruger 10/22 that only likes Remington (golden bullet bulk pack - $9-$10 at Wally World for 525 rounds). It jams on other brands (not every time but enough to be annoying).

With any .22 you should try out a few different brands to see what your rifle/pistol like, then go bulk!

In most of my .22LR's, I like the Walmart Federal bulk pack because they don't have the lead tips. For my AR and Marvel Conversion, I need to use a tad snappier ammo so I go for the Remington Golden Bullet Packs. I believe that the Winchester Super X will substitute for a "hotter" .22LR. I don't bother with the higher end .22s unless I wanna shoot some stingers for kicks.

I also don't like Thunderbolts. I have seen extreme velocity spread and lots of vertical stringing with them.

I do like Remington 36gr. Golden Bullets. Get 'em for $9/550 at Wal-Mart. They shoot better than other low-cost ammo in my revolver and rifles.

I have also heard good reports about the Federal Bulk Packs, and the Winchester Super-X, but I have not tried them.

Winchester Dynapoint. Shoots extremely well (sub-dime at 50yards out of my 10/22) I shoot it in all of my .22s (IZh35M, Trailside, MKII, Beretta 70s, Walther G22, 10/22, and CZ452). I'll be using in in my Taurus 63 and Golden Boy in a coupla weeks. What more could you ask for? Shoot clean, accurate, and $10 box of 500.

I like PMC Moderator, a bit more expensive at $16/brick, but damn quiet and accurate out of my CZ452.

Just got a box of Dynapoints that I have only shot a few of, but have been impressed. Also, the Federal bricks that Gander Mountain sells for $9 (can't remember specifics, 500 rounds, in 50 rd boxes with a plastic holder instead of loose packed, red box)

EDIT: I'm an idiot, it's PMC Moderator, not CCI

Big fan of the CCI Standard Velocity stuff. Accurate enough for serious target practice, extremely reliable, but not overly pricey at between $4-$5 per 100 rounds.

I shoot it in my pistol primarily, but it's also worked just fine in my rifles as well.

Federal 550 count brick. Every day.

can't beat that wal-mart special. I shoot that stuff too. decent accuracy, good consistancy, reasonably clean as far as rimfire ammo goes.

Federal from WallyWorld is the correct answer.
I always get one FTF out of a box of 550, but for 8.50 American dollars, who cares!

Cheap shooting .22? Anything that is cheap and goes BANG....:neener:

Cheap stuff is for fun, so as long as it goes bang I am happy...:)

Good stuff I save for hunting and serious work.

I like Aguila SP. Shoots as good as RWS and the less expensive Eley. I've used it in matches, no complaints.

+1 on Aguila.

I shoot Bullseye with Aguila SE standard velocity in the yellow and blue box. I've had great results with my Benelli MP95E, Marvel Unit 1 and IZH35M's. I order them by the caseload(5k) from Cole Distributing for $0.99/box or under $120/case delivered.

I still shoot Eley Target Pistol; SK Jagd Pistol Match; and, Wolf Match Target, from my cache of select lots!

Here's another vote for the Winchester Dynapoints. They seem to work the best in both 10/22s, the Ruger Mk-II, my Taurus PT-22, and the wife's S&W 22A. On the other hand.....

The only thing the Thunderbolts are good for is practicing ftf drills. I hate that stuff with a passion.
I couldn't tell you how much I can relate to that statement. :fire:
