What is the best made G3/HK91 copy? Or is it worth it to pop for the 2K original? Im trying to aquire one of each style 7.62 battle rifles, but I can`t see the HK being worth $2-3000. Thanks-

I heard from someone at another gun company that HK is going to be building a plant in the US, perhaps in anticipation of the AW ban going away. That way they'd be able to market US-made HK 91's, etc. Makes sense to me. If true, they wouldn't cost $2000+.

Probably the PTR-91.

Century's G3 Sporter recently got a very good review from SWAT Magazine.

Whats that you say? 7.62 battle rifle? G3 copy? Not 2-3000 dollars? Well don't fear, i think a CETME has your name on it ;) And with that $1700 saved you can buy a lil' bit of ammo... :p

My list:
  • Imports:
    1) HK-91 or HK-41
    2) Springfield SAR-3, as made by Hellenic Arms, Greece.
    3) FMP G3 or G3s, as made by FMP, Portugal
    4) Springfield SAR-8, as made by Hellenic Arms, Greece.
    5) FMP XG3s, as made by FMP, Portugal

    Domestics/kit guns:
    1) Interport HK
    3) PTR-91
    4) kit guns by reputable smiths, such as Azex, ARS, IGF.
    5) SW3, later version built on FMP receivers.
    ...
    Century Guns
    ...
    Hesse mess

Black92LX, HK's semi-auto black shotguns are about the same price as their pistols. I can't see why their rifles--if they indeed start making them again--would be any more expensive.

I sure hope than ban goes away.
