Archangel, I turn 70 in December, I wear bifocals and have cataracts. As I recall in one of his books Jim Carmichael pointed out his wall was covered with certificates and trophies from shooting and he was legaly blind. I find that I can still do OK with a large aperture peep receiver sight and a large front sight. My biggest problem might be seeing game. I
hate the stupid quality deer management rules because I can't distinguish between a fork horn and a 3 point on at least one side.
Night rider I am among the vast majority of lever action owners who do not compete. I might someday but it doesn't really appeal to me. I haven't found Winchester 94's need much if any tuning. I am fondest of the post 64 walnut stocked ones with top ejection. I engine turn the receivers and put homemade sights on them. I have not found them that hard to strip, clean, and put back together.
